Darien Lions Club Scholarship

Lions Club International is the world's largest service club organization, with more than 1.3 million members in approximately 45,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world. Since 1917, Lions Clubs have aided the blind and visually impaired and made a strong commitment to community service, including serving youth throughout the world. Due to this commitment, the Darien Lions Club has created a scholarship for the students of McIntosh County Academy students who have served their community.

The Darien Lions Club currently offers two (2)  $1,000.00 scholarships to young graduating seniors of McIntosh County Academy. The applicants for the scholarship must show evidence of active participation in community activities/service volunteering as well as have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average and plans to attend a public or private college, university, or technical school and attend by Fall semester and have attending MCA for two years.

🎓 2025 Darien Lions Club Scholarship Recipients Announced

The Lions Club of Darien is proud to recognize two outstanding McIntosh County seniors as recipients of our 2025 Community Service Scholarships. Each student has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship in honor of their dedication to serving the community and exemplifying the values of the Lions Club.

2025 Darien Lions Club Scholarship Recipient Robert Logan Gault

🦁 Robert Logan Gault

Robert has demonstrated a strong and consistent commitment to community involvement through his volunteer work with the McIntosh County Recreation Department and his participation in numerous local events. His service includes:

  • Trunk or Treat

  • McIntosh Luminaries

  • Christmas Parade

  • Kids Fun Days

  • Family Fun Nights

  • Bingo events and more

This fall, Robert will attend Georgia Southern University, where he plans to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

2025 Darien Lions Club Scholarship Recipient Branden Acree

🦁 Branden Acree

Branden has shown leadership and service in a variety of impactful ways, including:

  • Serving as a "Page for a Day" during a Georgia State Legislative session

  • Participating in sugar cane planting and harvesting on Sapelo Island

  • Active involvement in the Mast Gamechangers program promoting healthy youth habits

  • Volunteering at several local events throughout McIntosh County

Branden will be attending Clemson University in South Carolina, where he will major in Biology.
