Lions Club International is the world's largest service club organization, with more than 1.3 million members in approximately 45,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world. Since 1917, Lions Clubs have aided the blind and visually impaired and made a strong commitment to community service, including serving youth throughout the world. Due to this commitment, the Darien Lions Club has created a scholarship for the students of McIntosh County Academy students who have served their community.

The Darien Lions Club currently offers two (2) $1,000.00 scholarships to young graduating seniors of McIntosh County Academy. The applicants for the scholarship must show evidence of active participation in community activities/service volunteering as well as have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average and plans to attend a public or private college, university, or technical school, and attend by the Fall semester and have attended MCA for two years.
